Every season we feature one of our wonderful suppliers to show you who we buy our fantastic local ingredients from. This winter, we are singing the praises of Seeds2Bakery on Totnes High Street. A long established small Devon business, Darren and Lucy took it over a few years ago – about the time Hannah and I started The Kitchen Table – and they’ve been our fantastic bread suppliers from the very beginning.
We use their delicious wholemeal bread for our sandwich platters, interesting and artisanal loaves for our cold buffets, focaccia’s for seasonal dip platters and their bread rolls for our BBQ’s which we did a great deal of last summer.
We love doing BBQ’s at the Bay Horse, for weddings and family gatherings. We serve our home-made burgers with an assortment of tasty home-made and traditional sauces and chutney’s, with organic School Farm salad leaves, fresh seasonal home-made slaw and Seeds2Bakery rolls. They’ve proven very popular! We also collaborate with South Devon Hog Roast Company and always enjoy serving mouth watering slow roasted pork with salads, sauces and Darren’s rolls. We hope to cater many more hog roast and wedding BBQ’s as well as the Bay Horse BBQ’s (we especially enjoy their Beer and Cider Festivals!)
This year (2015) we are excited to be catering our first ever 100% vegan wedding where we will be serving a delicious selection of vegan BBQ items in Seeds2Bakery bread rolls with seasonal salads and home-made vegan sauces.
